Product Overview

The ADDA-LE-65 Series magnetostrictive level meter is described on the product details as an instrument for measuring liquid level and interface. Working Principle

The structure includes a stainless steel rigid rod or flexible probe, a magnetostrictive wire, and a movable float containing an industrial permanent magnet. During operation, the circuit excites a pulse current on the waveguide wire, generating a pulsed electromagnetic field around it.

As the float moves with the liquid level, the magnetic field around the float changes when it meets the pulse current magnetic field. A torsional wave pulse is generated at the float position and returns along the waveguide wire to the electronic unit. The position of the float, and therefore the liquid level, is calculated from the time difference.
